Apple Has Finally Launched its iPod After 4 Years

Today, Apple is the largest tech company in the entire world in terms of valuation. However, there was a time when Apple was not so big and in early 21st century, it had started making its name as the fastest growing tech company in the world. 

While many companies were coming up with innovative products, Apple went an extra mile in the innovation department. It came up with one of the most loved and highly demanded product known as “iPod”.

It was a product that was never launched before and it offered touch system with high storage capacity. Over time, Apple continued launching newer versions of the iPod. Apple continued launching newer versions of the iPod and like the iPhones, iPads, and MacBook, it continued launching newer versions until 2015. 

Apple Just Announced the Launch of New iPod

After almost 7 years of waiting, Apple has announced the launch of its new iPod. This is the first time Apple has announced the new iPod since 2015. 

You may think that iPod is cheap, has a small size, and it is an outdated product but it has a huge fan following. For years, the iPod has continued attracting more and more users to Apple. 

One of the major reasons behind the success of Apple today is iPod. However, Apple had to drop the idea of manufacturing new iPods due to the growing costs. They had also recorded a dip in sales for iPod. Due to these factors, the process of production and growth for iPods had dipped. 

Sales of iPods

It was back in 2008 when Apple had shared its sales for iPods. The tech giant revealed that in 2008, it had executed the highest number of sales for iPods, amounting to 55 million. However, in the year 2013, iPod stopped releasing the unit sales’ data for the iPods. 

The sources had confirmed that in the year 2013, Apple had sold less than 20 million iPods. As a result of the low sales and demand, Apple has stopped advertising its iPod on the website. iPod hasn’t earned a prominent recognition on the website of Apple.

Despite the low sales and not being advertised on the website as a prominent product, iPod still has a high demand in the market. 

Features Offered by the New iPod

Apple has announced that the new iPod they have introduced will support many features. The new iPod will also support applications that are part of the augmented reality. Additionally, the iPod will also support Group FaceTime calls that the users will be able to initiate with a single touch. 

Apple will also being launching its new gaming subscriptions for the users that will be available through the Apple Arcade. 

In the new iPod, Apple has added up to 256 GB worth of storage for the users who are always eager to add more music to their playlists. 

As announced, the new iPod will start at a price of $199 and it will offer up to 32 GB of storage. On the other hand, the 256 GB storage iPod will be offered at $399.
