Digital Marketing Setups for the Businesspersons
Small entrepreneurs in particular benefit from a targeted customer retention strategy. Collecting data from your customers is one thing, but how do you keep it clear and above all, how can you use the data to generate more sales?
Nowadays, every consumer is bombarded with advertising through all conceivable channels. As a small entrepreneur, it seems impossible to stand out in that media violence. A personal approach is extra important to continue to count. Only how do you do that with limited resources?
Customer loyalty, how do you do that?
As a starting entrepreneur you cannot ignore it: market research. Who are your customers and how and when you best address them are the most important ingredients of a successful start. Also in the later growth phase it is important to keep in touch with your customers and to know what they are doing. It’s actually not difficult at all if you stick to the following steps.
Collecting data about your customers
Regardless of how you speak to your customers, it is important to learn as much about them as possible. Don’t just think about email addresses, but also ask about specific interests when they sign up for your newsletter.
Organize your data
You will store the data you collect in such a way that it gives you a good idea of your customers. Of course you focus mainly on the area that is important to your company. Just don’t limit yourself too much. You then create a system that allows you to divide your customers based on interests, place of residence, purchasing behavior or other characteristics.
You will therefore continue to specify your target group (or in marketing terms: segment) so that you can address them as targeted as possible. This is called targeting. So you aim at a certain segment of your target group with a certain message. The more specific and timed, the more likely your message will hit its target. And that is what you have in mind: to show your customers that you are ready for them exactly in time with the solution to the problem they are currently struggling with.
Analyze
When you look closely at and analyze all the data found, it can yield new insights that you can benefit from. For example, you may discover that in certain areas no competitor has yet settled, or that people are interested in certain services or products that you could also offer.
Go for it
Once you have tapped into new sources, do something with them immediately. Automation can save you a lot of time. You can then link targeted messages based on interests or demographic data to certain combinations of data found.
If you do this wisely, you will not only get better campaigns, but you will also save a lot of money because a good and automated customer database helps you to set the right priorities.
