If you fail to notice when your car needs repair, the problem will become worse, sometimes catastrophic. No one wants to total their car because they missed a sign they should have taken their vehicle in for repair. Even simple things can become outrageously destructive when not properly taken care of.

Warning Signs Your Car Needs To Go To The Shop

  1. Your Check Engine Light Is Flashing

If your check engine light is lit up, take your vehicle to the shop soon. However, if the light is flashing, you need to go to the shop right away. This is never something you should take lightly. It doesn’t flash as a warning that you need to take care of something a month from now. When the check engine light flashes it is a sign that something isn’t right and needs to be looked at right away.

  1. Something is Leaking

If you park in the same spot everyday you will be more likely to notice if there is a spot developing under your car. If the spot is a bright green color, then it’s coolant. A dark brown could be brake fluid, or it could mean transmission oil or engine oil. None of these things should leak from your car. Your vehicle needs those fluids to run well and your car can get pretty wrecked without them.

Be aware that if there is clear moisture that looks like water and you’ve been running your air conditioning, that this is just from that and not actually a problem. So be sure to pay attention.

  1. Unusual Noises While You’re Driving

There are a lot of different sounds you might hear. Grinding, clunking, whining, and droning are all examples of noises you don’t want your engine to be making. If your car has developed a new sound, make a note of it so you can describe it to your mechanic and bring it into the shop.

4.Your Speakers Have Died

Is your car really worth driving if you can’t listen to music while you drive? Using your headphones while you drive is illegal in most states. If your speakers are busted, take your car into the Car Radio Repair Shop and have it taken care of.

  1. Smoke Coming From Under the Hood

This is not a joke. There should never be smoke coming from under the hood, and when it happens, it means you need to get to a mechanic right away.

  1. Vibrations When You Brake

For safety’s sake, you always need to be able to brake your car. If you feel a vibration when you stop the car then there could be a lot of different problems. This could mean worn out brake pads or discs, there could be an issue with your steering, or maybe there is a problem with your car’s suspension. All of those are things your mechanic will need to deal with.

The best way to know if something is wrong with your vehicle is to pay attention to it regularly. If something is out of the ordinary, it is probably not a good sign. Pay attention to your car and you’ll recognize the signs if it’s going to give you trouble.
